Love my Monster!

So, Baldwin is complete.  He was pretty sassy while he waited for me to cut out and attach his mouth, but now that he has a mouth, I wish I'd passed on it....

He looks so mean😁😠.  Ok, not really.  I wish he were bigger so I could hug and squish him!!

In other news, I found a cool book at the library with nifty sock patterns.

I found teeny tiny spools at Hobby Lobby for a craft I saw on Craftgawker.

I stayed up late to finish my Regia Clown Rings socks.

And tomorrow, I'm casting on my beaded necklace "Twilight" from the Betsy Beads book I got for Christmas.  I strung 550 beads and now I need to figure out how to work through their awkwardness of weighing down the thread and the mechanics of moving around hundreds of beads while I knit.  It'll be cool.  When I told Andrew I was getting ready to knit jewelry he put his finger to head and shot himself.  Rude. 😜. Now that he's being mean, I'm going to throw away the note with his foot measurements on them and he gets no socks.  (He didn't want any anyways, I was going to surprise him and his size 13 feet. Now I can save the yarn for me!!!)

Wednesday WIP's

Baldwin is taking shape. Tomorrow I'll finish the second arm and piece him together.  I learned how to do a 3 needle bind off that was very nice for his head.  I'll probably use that for my next pair of socks.

(I think I'm going to make him fatter...I mean squishier.)

And I finished the first Regia sock in "Clown Rings" yesterday and got started on the second one.  Still don't like the texture of the yarn, but I do like the sock!

I also started the Opal sock today, but no picture yet.  The kids hate the colors, but it's not like they have the best taste on earth with their underwear hanging out and their britches sagging.  You'd think the socks were for them for as many comments as they make on them.  😳. They wish I would make them socks, but no dice.  Socks only for me....

4 Day Socks!

I mentioned a pair of socks in yesterday's post and then I looked back a saw a previous update that hadn't published and realized you probably thought I had imaginary socks on the needles.  Never fear! I did, I just didn't have proof.  Now, I do.  Here's my beautiful socks that took me 4 days to k it.  Pretty amazing for me.  I'm especially proud of myself.

So proud, if fact, that I cast on 2 pairs today.   This padri to work on at work--plain vanilla knitting. 

And this pair from the Socktopus book I showed you yesterday.  This is the Kandahar pattern.  Kinda tricky at first, but I'm sailing along quite nicely.  This pair will be knit at home where I can concentrate on the lace sections.  

Not bad for a day that started out fighting with a neighbor and being late to work.  Proof that knitting can make a bad day good.

So This Happened....

And then this happened....  Dancing Dog Dyeworks updated her shop and I used my craft show money to by this lovely Spring rainbow socks with matching mini skein. *swoon*

I have 3 more retaliation yarns coming.  This two shown above arrived UNDETECTED.  Which makes them even better!!

AND, I sold more of my stash yarn today so I have more room in my stash! Stashbust2014 is working and it's not working, but it's ok...  The stash bust has made me more discriminating and conscious of my purchases.  No frivolous purchases--all purchases already have projects in mind.  And the yarn I sold would never be used.  Win-Win!
