Finally got around to making an origami star. I bought origami paper and only once it was open did I use the 100 meant 100 DIFFERENT colors of paper so the star is in shades. I wanted it in just orange. Oh well. I can always buy more paper.

Found these little pretties on Etsy. Had to have them since they were sterling silver and cheap! Andrew told me it was a waste of perfectly good money. I told him to take a hike.

Started the honeycomb cowl today from Madeline Tosh. It is listed on ravelry as a free pattern and is also on my ravelry page.

Interesting little stitch pattern. I'm using a silk Misti Alpaca hand painted yarn. Hoping it looks pretty, but I'm concerned the variegation may distract from the honeycomb pattern. We shall see!

Here's a "close-up" of my ruffled scarf I worked on this evening. Not too pretty. Reminds me of clumps of seaweed you might find on the beach. In the light with a green sweater, perhaps it will be nicer.

Here's what I worked on today. I finished the Granny Square headband and the Easy Knit infinity Cowl: Mid December. Headband from tangledhappy.com and the cowl from acraftyhouse.com

Crafty goodness!

Here's the loveliness I acquired today. My washi tape stickers arrived! I bought ginormous knitting needles for a pattern from acraftyhouse.com. I also started the granny square headband payottern from tangledhappy.com and the lace mesh scarf using katia yarn from studio knits yarn shop in Medina, Ohio. AND I purchased a sampler of perler beads for a craft idea I found on pinterest.

Can you say "LOVE"? It's been a great Saturday!

I don't look very cool in it, but one of my students will! I just look like a sick person. I guess getting older has it's price. Who am I kidding? I always look stupid in a hat.

Remember the washi tape I got last week?  Well, I found these little beauties THIS WEEK on etsy.  I'm waiting on these lovely stickers to arrive at my home this weekend.  Wait until you see what I'm making with this!



Newest project!

I saw this lovely pattern in Martha Stewart Living.  It was for people who can only knit rectangles and how to make cool accessories.  This hat caught my eye.  I'm currently working it using my Araucania yarn.  I also added a seed stitich so that the hat had a cuff of sorts.

Started several projects yesterday (2/23/12), but managed to scrap them all.  So, nothing to show for my work.

I am however, in the process of revamping my website and going back and adding links to my posts so that if there is a project you like, there will be a link for you to click on that will take you to the pattern.  I'm alos looking for other ideas to add to the site to make it more interesting and interactive.  Wish me luck!

Finished! Had to use a square pillow because that's the size dad wanted and that size doesn't come in round. Still looks pretty good!!

Yay me! I finished the front and almost all of the back today!!

Started, and almost completed, Dad's cushion for his bed, today. I forgot how easily it works up. Hope to finish the front tomorrow and the back by Wednesday. I've been frogging a lot of projects lately because they were tedious or not all that nice to do once I got started. It's nice to start a project today that I'm excited about.

Worked to finish the hat and scarf set for Alicia. Want to finish the second set tomorrow so I can start the flower pillow for my dad. This lovely set is done in BonBon by RedHeart. Murder on the fingers, but cute!

Today I worked on my Montana Scarf and the diamond brocade. It was a hectic day so not much got accomplished. And I took no pictures so I pulled this one off my pinterest account to share. (I could just kiss this face!!)

Valentine's Card

Here's a picture of the card I made Andrew. The inside says, "You're my one-in-a-million!" Also made one for mom and dad and I realized after it was sent that I never took a picture. Sigh.

What is this? 7 little bags of awesomeness. 21 spools of Washi Tape. I'm soooo excited! Let the Washi crafting begin!

Idea!

What about modifying the New Year's Resolution? I'm supposed to be exercising on a regular basis (HA!) and I'm not. How about if I meet my exercising goal for the week/month, I'm allowed to purchase yarn for ONE project? Just a thought. I need motivation and perhaps this is the trick...

Finished this hat today and started on the scarf. Had plans to craft, but ended up sleeping off a headache and puttering around aimlessly. Maybe tomorrow I'll get around to the origami project I've been meaning to do.

Confession

Here's my walmart purchases today. Cool pens, a crochet magazine, and yarn. BUT, the yarn was for Alicia's hat and scarf sets--she didn't buy enough for a complete set, so I bought it for her. So, technically I did and didn't break my resolution. I know you'll forgive me because it wasn't a "moment of weakness" purchase AND I only bought what I needed.

Happy Valentine's Day! Here's a sprinkling of what I did today. I made Hershey Kiss rings and heart rings out of pipe cleaners for my kids. (A BIG hit!) and I started working on the hat and scarf sets for Alicia. I also knitted on the Montana scarf!

I've been crafting at home and saving my knitting for school so I can get some craft projects I've been wanting to do done. Today I finished my handmade Valentine's cards and prepped for tomorrow's craft. I skimmed the web for new blogs and found two more things I'd like to do. Anyhow, here's the Montana scarf I worked on today during my lunch hour. It's finally coming along!

Miss Maya

I taught Miss Maya to knit this year. She's an awesome 7th grader at my school. I also gave her my yarn that I stash busted. With both of these things in mind, Miss Maya made me this beautiful scarf. I love it! And I love Miss Maya!

My mom is awesome!

She made these beautiful needle holders for me without a pattern! Love you Ma!

Have decided to do minimal knitting and crocheting this week. I've been feeling the need to craft! I would show you the valentine's card I just finished, but it's a surprise do I'm showing you the materials I used. Finished picture later this week! (After mom and dad get it in the mail.)

Disappointing trip to yarnmarket.com. (They were closed.) Came up short trying to find yarn to finish Alisha's hat. Came back and actually managed 48 rows on this brocade scarf I've been working on FOREVER. Gonna get back in the swing soon. I hope!

Haven't been able to focus lately. Could be the funeral for my uncle Ron or the fact that my dad is so happy that the three of us are together that he feels the need to fill every moment. Either way, my crafting has taken a hit. I've frogged two projects and not made any gains. Maybe tomorrow.

The cowl is finished. Now I have to block it. Figures. Just when you think you're done, you're not. I'll take it with me to Columbus and block it there.

Worked on the Montana Scarf at work today and managed to get thru one skein. Also worked on the waves scarf. Came home and lost my mojo. Had to add 8 rows on the cowl before I could start the finishes and only managed to squeak out 4 rows before calling it a night. Deadline comes. Deadline goes.

I figured it out! I now know how I'm going to close up the back of the cowl. The bottom sample was my first idea: bind off up to the decrease, knit, bind off from the second decrease to the end. Fail.

Second idea: knit all the way to the second decrease and combine those two stitches. Turn and knit back to the other decrease and combine those two stitches. Turn and work back to the other decrease and combine. Turn and work.... I'm a genius!

The cowl at the almost halfway stage. I'm halfway thru the decreases and decided I'd had ENOUGH. I'll pick it back up tomorrow. My fingers hurt and my tendons in my left hand hurt. I need a break.

Tomorrow the decreases must be completed so I can figure out how to finish off the back.

Happy Birthday to the best mom EVER!

Spent the evening working on that blasted cowl. The first time I did it, no problems. This time I have so many bizarre things going wrong I'm about to scream. Anne (hopefully) won't notice an error I can't seem to fix because there is no way on Earth I'm starting over again. Going to devote the entire weekend to it to get it out of my house.

One skein tomorrow, the other skein Sunday. Finished. Or else!
