I'm a shoe "hoe." No doubt about it. These lovely Dansko clogs are $140. And today, bought them for $50. Oh yeah!! And the shoes on the bottom are $100 and I found them for $35. What a beautiful day!

Memorial Day
This is what I had to look at for 3 hours on Memorial Day--Madea movies and my "relatives" in a room with no furniture. Ugh. I'll be sick for Labor Day.
Field day
I hate field day at school, so I took the day off. Good thing! It rained and then was muggy. Two of my least favorite types of weather. So, instead, I finished the butterflies for the mobile and I finished the "Simply Elegant" sweater. Not happy with the sweater. Did the sleeves twice and they looked so alien, I took them off and left it as a vest. Still don't like it. The pattern is crap. Do. Not. Pay. For. It. It is a waste of time and 800+ yards of yarn.

Summer Camps
I am participating in two Ravelry summer camps--Camp Loopy and Stash Dash 2013. Below is my first project for stash dash--an improvised cowl and hat made from my stash of Hobby Lobby yarn "Mimic" in Firebird. Out of 4375 yards, this used 395 yards leaving my total yardage to complete by 8/5/13 at 3979 yards. Yay!
Great Lakes Fiber Show in Wooster, Ohio
Just a few pictures from my Saturday adventures. The last picture is my yummy yarn purchase. Mmm mmmm.
Elvira
Here's the finished Elvira hat! I also did the brown monarch butterfly and I picked my yarn for stash dash 2013.

Yum!
Found this pretty little sweater on ravelry. It is knit in one piece and it is gorgeous. I may have to step up my game!
May 22, 2013
Today, I finished my Elvira Hat (yay!) and I picked up my crochet hook to work on my cardigan. My hope I'd to finish everything on my hooks and needles by June 1, so I can start my Camp Loopy with an open plate.

May 20, 2013
Worked on my wrap (at home) and my hat (at work). Got signed up for my classes for Stitches Midwest. Made a list of projects I would like to complete this summer. Finally, I worked on prepping beads for bracelets that my Girl Scouts will make tomorrow at our final meeting for the school year. Yay!
The range wrap
This is the wrap I'm working on. It is so beautiful and so simple. Can't wait for mine to be done in my maize colors.

Beautiful!
Here's my beautiful birthday gift from Miss Haizle! Yummy colors, yes? O-H! Now to find a cool day to wear it! Thank you so much, Haizle! I love it!!
Success! Sorta....
My Popsicle stick bracelets are dry and wearable. I need to find a better mold, though. Something oblong and something round. I need to put my thinking cap on. And below is my range wrap coming along very nicely, but not quickly.

Swatches
I did my 3 swatches and I'm still pretty clueless about what I want to make out of each of them. One day it will come to me.
Camp Loopy
I have signed up to do Camp Loopy sponsored by The Loopy Ewe. Today I got my yarn for the first camp project. The first project has to be from 375 yards of lace or fingering weight yarn that they sell in their shop. You don't have to buy it from them, but I did and got that cute Camp Loopy pin for my craft bag. As you can see I'm on team Mt. Kaytwopeatwo. Camp, begins June first and my first project will be a linen stitch scarf I've been putting off. Now I have a goal!!
More crafting today!
The first picture are bracelets I'm making out of Popsicle sticks. (Boil for 15 minutes and the gently bend them and place them in a mold. I used a glass and a mushroom can I bent.) can't wait to see how they turn out. I'm thinking of taking them to school for Girl Scouts.
The second and third picture of teeny tiny granny squares it of embroidery floss. I glued the one to a square pendant for a necklace. The pink one was too big... I got,the idea out of the magazine pictured at the end. That magazine has totally awesome ideas in it! More to come!!

Today's butterflies
I managed to finish 3 more before I ran out of black beads. Tomorrow, I'll be doing pink, browns, and greys. (I bought a backup pack of black beads today while I was "craft storing". Yes, that's a verb. Now to figure out to make my mobile!

Today's work
I made the next butterfly in the series--green! And I have these 4 yarns that are variegated that I would like to use for projects that I started switching. The second picture is called "Time to make the doughnuts" and now I know it is a self striping yarn and can pick a project for it. The other two seem random, so I'm going to swatch them tomorrow and see if a pretty pattern emerges. Fingers crossed!
Ahhhh, the weekend!
I went out after work for calamari with my friends Amy and Susan and on my way home I decided to pop in to River Colors Studio to see the yarn. I was good until I headed towards the door and saw the most beautiful madelinetosh yarn. I purchased it and hid it in my project bag to sneak in the house. It is pictured in the second picture--the color way is called Cathedral. I made me heart swoon.

Birthday crafting
So, to say it was a good birthday would be totally honest. Exciting, no. Solitary, yes. It's on these days that you are reminded how much good friends and family are needed close, and you appreciate the time you have with them. Saying all that, I had a good birthday today. Lots of hugs from all the kids and even my cousin in song! And I also got to work on my awesome new hat (Elvira) and a completed another butterfly for my mobile. (I totally dig monarch butterflies, so I'm making the entire out of monarch butterflies in different color combinations!)

Smacking and butterflies, part 2
Finished the stocking on my Elvira hat and I managed to create 2 butterflies. I'm making a mobile of butterflies--something pretty to hang from the ceiling.
Newest hat and more beads!!
Learned stocking today as I started a new hat (for the 2nd time). It's called Elvira and I'm using a skein of madelinetosh vintage that I love. Then I got the plate to make perler bead butterflies. Yay!

Sad
I'm at that point where I'm sad most of the time. I've been sick too long. I've had this headache for too long. I have too much to do and no help doing it. My mother in law has taken it upon herself to remake me in the way she sees fit and even if she does mean well, I'm pretty upset about it. My crafting is non existent. I just seem to wander around feeling lost, sad, and mad all at the same time. I have no flowers on my porch, no ferns hanging for the hooks. My pots are empty. The sink is full. The fridge is empty. The hamper is full.
--
I'm worn out, worn down, and basically feeling helpless. I'll be 41 next week and I feel like I'm going nowhere.
So, no craft pictures. Not anytime soon, I'm sure. I'm off to sit on the front porch and stare out into the sky. Tomorrow is another day.

String Art from Whimsybox.com
Last month the craft of the month was String Art. Tonight, I sat down to complete my project. I painted the wood a metallic green and printed out an "M". The rest is history. The nails were too short so they came out kind of wonky because I had so much trouble nailing them in, but I like it!! It will get displayed with the rest of my initial collection. Love!!

Wingspan
I've been terribly sick lately and as a result, my crafting has taken a back seat. I did, however have one good day and I managed to finish my shawlette, Wingspan. It is my first knitted shawl and I'm pretty happy with it.
