The sock. Is finished.
Now on to the second one.
This blog was originally about keeping a New Year's Resolution about being creative every day. As I plod through my daily trials, the blog has evolved into a way to find and maintain my happiness through crafting and creating.

Still plugging along on the never-ending sock. Of course, I'd get a lot farther if I weren't adjusting to new hormones and I weren't so crabby. But in 8 calendar days I will be free to do as I please when I please if I please. Summer. Vacation.

Started another hat today. Ohio State colors, of course. Also worked on a 15 page document for work, did the laundry, cooked!!, rearranged my craft space and bought more annuals so it's been a busy day!

Here's my projects from today. I finished Playin' Hooky's Brain Waves hat for Miss Aslin and started an OSU one for me. And the last picture is the yummy yarn I bought from the Great Lakes Fiber Fest that I went to today with Miss Haizle in Wooster, Ohio.
Awesome. Day.

No post yesterday because it was hot and I was moping. Ready for this school year to just end already. But today, I forced myself to start a project for Miss Aslin. She's a little girl at school who is dying for me to make her a hat. Here's the the start in the colors she chose.

Today was not a crafty day, but it was an organizational day. I straightened up my work space at work and I modified my work space at home. Putting things away where they belong it always gratifying. And as a result, I feel free to create again.

> Worked on my sock today. Ran out of ink in my printer, so the project I wanted to start I couldn't print. Oh well. Hope to finish these socks one day soon, but I doubt it will happen. Too tedious.

My take on the zipper coin purse. I went wrong somewhere, but it's still kinda cute. 1 20" zipper and a piece of ribbon! Next try should better?

Off task for much of the day. Too much going on, I suppose. But I did refresh my hemp bracelet memory with the hopes of making the bracelet in the last picture. I can visualize it, now to put the plan in action.

Here's my finished design...
I blocked and sewed the gift-card-igan this evening. Cards fit perfectly and the clasp keeps everything safe. Now if I could find a hoard of impoverished immigrants to mass produce them....

So I see this cute little gadget cozy in O, The Oprah Magazine and decided to make my own. Here it is with all my mistakes. Next time--circular needles and increases on each side instead of just one. The prototype is the bottom picture. I will perfect this!!!

I spent my birthday covering a class. Not a bad one, though. They were so self-sufficient that I was able to finish my gift-cardigan! When I get home I'm going to block it.

I changed my mind, of course. I started the gift-cardigan following the pattern, but it sucked. So I found an old fake cable pattern I had used before and modified the pattern to suit myself. Here's the start.

Here are my two attempts. Both modified. Both disappointing. Next time, follow the instructions for the card holder and don't improvise AND use a smaller needle for the bracelet and find better colors. Argh. I hate wasting crafting time.

Happy Mother's Day!
I was just going to leave this picture as my posting, but mom would pinch me with her toes. Happy Mother's Day, Mom! Thanks tom you I have the love of crafting which is definitely a good thing no matter what the men say.
Love you big bunches!

Another day of minimal crafting. However, I did find this little lovely. I'm thinking these would be cool to make for giving gift cards. Then the person will have a cute little pouch for their purse or coat pocket. Thinking of making one tomorrow. (Project list gets bigger--thank goodness school gets out in 17 days.

Did very little good stuff today. Knitted a few rows on my pretty socks, but I was weary when I came home so I took a 3 hour nap and then cleaned the house. Kinda. I think I'm going to make this pretty hat tomorrow for myself. Kind of a mad hatter hat for the girl who is trying to keep from going mad herself...

My monster has been unleashed. Home Depot fever, baby! I finished the front of the house's landscaping. 9 hanging baskets and lots of love. Backyard is next.
Picture 2 is flower #2 using sock yarn. Much better size. And the last picture is an awesome dot-to-dot with over 600 dots. I'm smitten with this thing!

Here's the finished flower. It is soooo big that the second picture shows you it is bigger than my hand. So, despite the fact that I love this flower, I definately need smaller thread to use it as decorations and not head coverings.

Can't remember if I blogged yesterday. I'm also too lazy to check (I blog via email). Here's what I worked on. I started the hat yesterday and finished today. We shall see if I like it. The doily/coaster at the bottom is from a link on pinterest. I did it in cotton, but I think I need a lighter weight to make it pretty.

Another lazy day. Today I started the hat I talked about yesterday, decided the pattern was super vague, and scrapped it. So I made a couple flowers and worked on the difficult ruffle. Hoping to finish the ruffle tomorrow.

Early Birthday Gift to Myself
I've been wanting a LiteBrite for quite a while, but gave up when I discovered that they had "revamped" the product and it was no longer what I remembered it to be. THEN, a blogger I follow posted one she found on eBay and how much her daughter loved it. Duh! I forgot about eBay? It was perfect! So I closed the email, opened the eBay app and found this beauty for $25. All the pegs and a complete set of papers! Great Googily Moogily!!

Happy May Day! No one surprised me with flowers on my door, but Jo one ever does. And the maypole is non existent. I did, however, get new glasses! Yay!
And here are today's projects. The bracelet on the left and the beginning of another ruffle scarf using Twist and Twirl. It's not as much fun to work with as the others. AND I finished a few more rows on my sock!
