This blog was originally about keeping a New Year's Resolution about being creative every day. As I plod through my daily trials, the blog has evolved into a way to find and maintain my happiness through crafting and creating.

Worked on basketweave covers for Lisa and tried this new pattern for a snowflake. Redheart patterns suck.

Today, I finished my Misti Alpaca Pima cotton and silk hand dyed scarf. Yum! So so soft and silky. If I could afford it, my blanket I sleep with would be made out of this yarn.

Today I got back into the swing of things and FINALLY mended the 2 couch pillows, my favorite sweater and my friends sweater. Am thrilled to wear sweater tomorrow!!
Also worked on my Misti Alpaca scarf in between chores.

Zombie BBQ yarn
I found it! And it was delivered while I was out of town. Can't wait to use it on my monster iPad cozy!!

Here's the "please forgive my dogs for being mean to you" washcloth I'm making for my BFF. I started it this evening and will finish in the morning.

Here's the scarf I finished today for my mom. I took the opportunity to knit in complete silence without two dogs and a man needing my attention. My resolve tom finish showed me two things: I get more done when the tv is not on AND I can actually sit still for 3.5 hours without needing to do anything other than "be."

I started crocheting again on this day. My knitting projects take so long and I needed some successes quickly. Here's the link to the yarn I started using to make a slouchy hat.
There will be real pictures when ingot back home to a better wifi than the one I have hacked into here in Columbus...

Stayed home with stomach virus. Boooo. But I did start a knitted monster today. I'm starting small to get the hang of it. AND I also started these folded Christmas trees with my new circle cutter. I love paper crafts!

November 20, 2011
Today I worked diligently on my mom's wool scarf. I think I'm half way done. The goal is to use the entire skein of yarn. Was hoping to be done by the time I leave for Thanksgiving, but it is a complex pattern that requires concentration. I have 15 repeats pattern complete and the farther I get into the scarf, the more it looks like I won't have to block it. Bonus!

November 18, 2011 continued
Here's a globe I made from a Martha Stewart kit. There are 3 little ones and another big one still to complete. So pretty.
November 18, 2011
Today, I learned how to knit an I-cord. I'm going to add it (once it's long enough) to my crocheted wreath.

Using the yarn on the left, today I worked on a cable-patterned scarf for my mom. Slow going, will need serious blocking, but pretty.

Also FINALLY completed...
The GAP-tastic cowl that was so terribly boring to make but is so versatile and nice looking once I wear it. Grey sweater and red shoes tomorrow!
November 16, 2011
Here is the completed crocheted wreath. It is an idea I used from a craft blog I follow. Going to add a pretty red I-cord bow to it!

Finished the second skein on Dad's scarf today. Finished watching Brothers & Sisters on Netflix. And I made a huge batch of wonton stuffing and made potstickers. (these are not mine, but mine were GOOOOOOOD!)
November 11, 2011
Ran around all day and when I got hone I had just enough energy to make my autumn garland out of precut glittery foam leaves.

November 8, 2011
Tuesday, I took a mental health day and worked on a new project called the gap-tastic cowl. Big chunky yarn in seed stitch. Cast on 131 and work in the round. Then I took a huge nap and watched Netflix while I worked on Dad's scarf again.
November 7, 2011
Looking back I see I didn't do ANY posts this week so far and I'm going to try to catch up right now. On this day (the 7th), I knitted a bit on Dad's scarf and picked out my next two projects.

Finished mom's scarf today (after she was already gone). : (. And then I finished this hat that I started on Wednesday. Andrew says it looks good, so I'm happy. His usual response is, "It looks alright."
November 4&5, 2011
I primarily worked on this scarf for Friday and Saturday. My goal was to have one skein done before my mom and dad got here, but I got sleepy Saturday night.

November 3, 2011
Here's the progress I'm making on the scarf for my dad. The variegated pattern is intriguing to me. But it's also helping me keep interested in it. Hopefully the extra skeins I ordered from yarnmarket.com will be here this weekend.

HPKCHC
I've decided I may not have the patience for the Harry Potter Knit and Crochet House Cup. Can't quite figure out where to find my points, how many points I got, if I got a badge, where te badge is if I got it, how to get sorted, and all that crazy shit. I have so many freakin' projects running I can't quite keep them all straight. I only got 3 things completed last month and I have no idea what I can possible start and finish in the month of November.
Yes, I'm whining. Can't even bring myself to follow my own advice of "Man Up!"
AND, if I don't stop buying yarn and finding new patterns, I'm never going to escape this hobby alive.
Found 3 new ones today and I must be insane. Actually, I am insane.
This job/career/gig I have wipes me out. I'm emotionally and physically drained by the time I get home. Then I look at all these WIP's and I want to smack myself. Too wound up to focus, to tired to complete, too pissed off to settle down. And now the hobby I love is starting to feel like a chore because everyone has made "requests." I started saying no a longtime ago, but I'm still bogged down. So what do I do? I waste a perfectly expensive yarn on a hat I'll probably never wear.
Here it is 8:30 and I'm too tired to even sit upright. I'll try again tomorrow.
(But I did knit today!!! Just not enough to get anywhere.)
