Here's a bin full of pom poms I made today from one of my favorite yarns--Tweed Stripes. I made 14 before Andrew came home and whisked me away! I have 8 more to make and then I'm stringing them all together as a scarf.

And I knitted today, of course!

Here's two garlands I made today. One from my stash of paper and one from the beautiful flowers I got at Sunday's supply swap! And I knitted most of the day, of course!

Today, I learned how to change colors while knitting thanks to a YouTube video. Niiice!

Here's my progress today. Tomorrow I'll do the tissue paper poms. Maybe. I seem to be obsessed with the yarn.

June 26, 2011

Today, I attended a Supply Swap as a part of the Cleveland Crafting Group. (Insert eyeroll from Andrew who thinks I need NO MORE supplies) As a result, this hermit met some pretty cool ladies who have similar interests. Of course, Miss Haizle hexed my knitting with her envious eyes and I had to start over, but all in all a great time. Can't wait to go again!

What did I create? Hopefully, really cool friends.

Next on my crafting list...

I'm not exactly a girly girl, but these ultra cool tissue paper poms would totally look awesome in my craft room. I have a huge stash of tissue paper and I have a tutorial from Martha Stewart, so this is on the list for this week. Sooooo excited!

June 25, 2011

Began knitting today (on my own) and I got pretty far before I dropped a stitch, slipped, and then pulled the whole thing out and started over. Bah! Crochet is much nicer. But I'm still stoked about learning to knit.

June 24, 2011

Today, I took a knitting class at Joann fabrics. I've been wanting to learn for ages so I finally took the plunge with a gift card I got from my friend Amy for my birthday.

Here's my first swatch. Doesn't look like much, but I cast on, knitted, purled, did the stockinette stitch and the stitched you would use to make a cuff and I bound off. I thank Miss Cheryl for her excellent instruction and patience. Once I have this down, I'm going back for another class.

After 7 years, peace has been created in my living space. This Aurora, that sat idle in my backyard while neighborhood rats lived, died, and dried out in it, is finally gone. I've haven't felt this kind of relief since I packed up my ex's shit and left it in his mama's driveway.

My beautiful mother

My sneaky mother created this beautiful handbag for me and kept it a secret. No pattern, just excellent intuition. Love you, mom!

Here's the coin purse I made today from an American Girl craft kit. Cute!

Here's my first attempt (and possibly last) at embroidery. It looks better farther away!

This took HOURS. No wonder the settlers did this. It takes so long that you waste a whole evening and you don't realize it. I didn't realize it was taking so long until I ran out of sunlight.

Here's the circular washcloth I also finished today.

Great pattern "Sylvan Star Washcloth" at Lion Brand Yarn http://bit.ly/ezMXRv

This is the pattern I worked on today as well as an aqua scrunchie. Considering I had guests until 5pm--not bad!

Today, my arm felt better. Slept in a brace and bought arthritis cream at the grocery. Seems I'm a bit young for this...

Worked on the scrunchie and found a cool pattern for washcloths on lionbrand.com.

Andrew and I moved the Aurora last night and he worked most of the evening cleaning the crap out of the backyard. Today, I finished planting the perennials he bought and the annuals that were still waiting to be planted. Watered the poor dry plants in the back garden. Then I worked on the food for Father's Day. Marinated the meats, made cole slaw and potato salad. And tomorrow everything will be ready to go when the dads get here.

June 17, 2011

Another bad day for my arthritis. I worked in the craft room rearranging stuff to make it more accessible and organized. Seems I do this more often than I should have to. I think in my sleep I make messes.

I started another scrunchie. This time in hot pink. Didn't finish because my arm hurt. :o(

July 16, 2011

My arthritis in my arms was acting up. I managed to crochet a bit on my shawl and then I turned it in for the day. I also created a list of crafts for the summer, but didn't manage much else. :o(

Here's the two scrunchies I made today. Kind of cute!

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

June 14, 2011 also

This is the beginning of a ruffled scrunchie I'm making from a kid's
crochet book. If it cones out cute I'll probably use my scrap yarn to
make them for a craft show I'm doing in the fall.

June 14, 2011

Here's the yarn I am using to create an "infinity" shawl. It's my own
design and I started it this evening. It will be my extra project for
the summer. The one I work on when I don't feel like doing other crafts.

June 14, 2011

See this cute little accessory bag I found at Michael's today? With a 50% off coupon and left over loot on a gift card it was free. Me and Martha Stewart--together for the summer....

If only she would embroider it for me, I'd be sitting even prettier!

Garland is finished!

June 13, 2011

Here's a picture of my completed work in the front yard flower beds. I tried to split on of the hostas, but it was too big and rooted too deep so I just weeded and then I mulched. I am almost finished creatint my beautiful yard. And even Andrew liked my work!
Now I'm going to go work on white flowers for my crocheted garland...

June 11 & 12, 2011

I finally found a pattern for crochet flowers that is simple and cute and that I actually liked. Here's the yellow flowers I worked on over the course of these two days. Didn't get much else accomplished because I had out of town visitors and I was distracted...

June 10, 2011

I got paid to sit around and craft for the final day at school. Here's what I worked on.

Friday, June 10, 2011

June 9, 2011

Today was the final day of school, so I spent it prepping for the new school year. I cleaned out the desk and restocked it so that it will be ready on the first day without me having to buy any supplies whatsoever. I can walk in and be ready to go from day one. May not be creating something you can see, but it created a sense of calm knowing that I officially have the whole summer to myself.

June 8, 2011

Nothing got created today. Why? Because this is how hot it was
according to my car. I know you forgive me.

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

June 7, 2011

Today, I crocheted this cuff. Since cuffs are "in", I thought I'd
design my own. Variegated thread and buttons--2 of my favorite things.

June 6, 2011

Today, I organized the home office by filing our bills, creating new
file folders for new items, and organized our tax documents. It has
needed doing for quite a while, but I tended to look the other way. By
not being effectively organized I've been cutting due dates close and
fretting at the last minute. Now that the room is clean, I'm hoping to
get back on top of my game.

June 5, 2011

Yesterday I worked at putting away winter clothes and bringing out
summer clothes. Today, once everything was in place and all the old
clothes were bagged up for goodwill, I labeled my shelves. I also
labeled my drawers, but you can't see that in the picture.

We have super small closets because the house was built in 1920. So
I've added shelves and shelving units. I also decided long ago to live
within the parameters of this closet only. (Andrew, however, has a
closet, 3 wardrobes, a dresser, and the attic storage space for his
stuff. And let me say, he still doesn't have enough room. )

June 4, 2011

Here's the crocheted friendship bracelets I made today. I'm thinking
about making a cuff in this same style since cuffs are "in."

Worked so hard this week that I actually finished the afghan today at
work. Now I'm free to set up my crafting list for the summer. Yippee!!!

June 1, 2011, June 2, 2011

Worked on the afghan for MaryAnne. (So exciting I forgot to post....)
