Another view....

May 30, 2011

Here's the crochet friendship bracelet I made from an idea on etsy.
Mom came up with the button idea and it was genius! Thanks mom! This
was the first one I made, I'll perfect it as I go.

I finished the Father's Day garland. It came out cuter than I could
have hoped! Dad is going to love it!

Kususama is complete. I think this is the coolest thing I ever made.
Seriously. I'm in awe of the simplicity of the folds and the final
product. Worth every hour.

Now I am on a mission to find dogwood origami paper that is double
sided. That would be beautiful!

Kusudama pt. 2

All the flowers are assembled. Next up is the kusudama assembly. I'm
going to let the glue dry for a bit and come back later when my hand
is steady. (Too much caffeine right now...)

Spent my day folding 45 pieces of origami paper into the pieces of my
kusudama. www.foldingtree.com has a tutorial.

I started the project almost/more than a year ago. I just seemed to
lose interest. Then I saw an awesome on on etsy and decided perhaps I
needed to suck it up and finish mine. Here's the pieces and some of
the flowers. The goal is to finish this weekend, so I'll post the
finished one here.

Finished putting the ties on the origami shirts. Now to figure out how
to hang the garland and how to do the lettering.

Today was a nonstop, go get 'em day. School, doctor, pharmacy, home,
school, another pharmacy, school, scentsy sponsor, home, scentsy
sponsor, home. This monster is how I would be feeling if this day had
been a bust.

Worked on the baby afghan. Still sick.

Saturday, May 21, 2011

May 21, 2011

Still sick. Forced myself to sit up and work on something. As a
result, I finally finished the mystery crochet along from Easter
weekend. Cute! And now an item in my gift box!

May 20, 2011

Still sick. Seems worse. Worked on the afghan while watching tv in a
stupor. Added about 4 rows and went back to bed.

May 19, 2011

Still sick. Worked on one row of the new afghan. Gave up.

Concert at school today while having the evil sinus infection means I
came straight home (after lunch with my fabulous father) and laid down and did nothing.

May 16, 2011

My 39th birthday was spent at work, at tutoring and at a meeting.  Then I took myself out to dinner at the mongolian barbeque.  Then I came home and worked on creating the concert program for my band and choir concert that is on Wednesday.  After that I worked on the new afghan.  And then I passed out.

I have millions of ideas in my head, but I am too tired lately to actually do them.....

May 15, 2011

No crafting or creating took place today.  I spent the day with my four favorite people, Mom, Dad, Andrew and Lisa.  We celebrated my birthday and went out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory.  It was an excellent day.

May 14, 2011

Today I started the second baby afghan of the same pattern I finished
this week.

I also spent some time at Michael's buying craft stuff I didn't need
because there was no one there to stop me. And I had a 20% of
everything coupon. BONUS.

Today was Mother's Day. And in honor of moms everywhere, I took a day
off from crafting to relax and enjoy the day outside.

Lunch with family and then home depot for even more perennials that we
don't need. I also bought strawberries and I'm really excited to watch
them grow. I put them in a window box so Tess won't get to them before
me.

Happy Mother's Day!

May 7, 2011

Spent the day creating a more harmonious living space by putting all
of Andrew's crap away. He kills me! How hard is it to put your stuff
away?

And then I cleaned the house and worked on my afghan.

May 6, 2011

Worked on the afghan. Successfully located the blue I needed to
complete.

May 5, 2011

Today's accomplishments include finishing state testing, buying yarn,
eating apple dippers instead of fries, and buying my hanging ferns for
the front porch. Then I worked in my flower beds weeding them and
preparing them for the new mulch I'm picking up this weekend.

And to finish it all off, I worked on the afghan and added 6 mores rows.

A very satisfying day.

What is it, Martin?

It's my old cookie sheets spray painted in my craft room's accent
color. I decided to repurpose them since I don't have place to hang up
my ideas and inspirations.

Sooooo, instead of throwing them in the recycling bin, I made magnetic
boards for my craft room wall. And I also created a cool space to hang
my smart alec magnets that I bought at the Country Living fair with my
mommy last September.

May 3, 2011

I've been ticked off for the past few weeks with my waste collection
agents. I made a phone call to the department complaining about having
to "track down" my garbage cans each week down at the end of my street.

This is how I found my garbage cans after trash collection. They
created a much happier client with the simple act of putting the can
back where they found it.

Started a mixed fiber baby afghan today. On order for a friend. No
pressure.

Mystery Crochet Along #3- complete!

It's a bright and cheerful bag. I don't know if I like the scallop pattern, but I know a couple of people who do.

Today I developed a flyer to hopefully get me some great sales for
Mother's Day. Holla if you need a quick and affordable gift! I also
have some Thirty-One products...
